Adding Services Your Clients Can Book

Create, organize, and manage your service menu so clients always know what you offer.

Services are the foundation of your booking page. When clients visit your Bookwize link, they see your list of services with names, descriptions, durations, and prices. Getting this right means fewer questions from clients and more bookings with less back-and-forth.

How to Add a New Service

You can add services during the onboarding wizard or any time from your dashboard. Here is the process:

Step 1: Go to Services

From your dashboard, click Services in the left sidebar. You will see a list of any services you have already created, plus an Add Service button.

Step 2: Fill In the Details

For each service, you will enter:

Step 3: Assign to Staff

Choose which staff members offer this service. If you have a team, you can assign a service to one person or to everyone. Clients will only see available staff for the service they select. For more on staff management, see our guide on managing your team and staff accounts.

Clear, well-named services with accurate durations are the single biggest factor in getting clients to complete a booking without calling you first.

Editing and Removing Services

You can update any service at any time. Click on a service from the list to edit its name, description, duration, price, or category. Changes take effect immediately on your booking page.

If you no longer offer a service, you can delete it. Existing bookings for that service are not affected — they stay in your calendar and history. Only future bookings are impacted.

How Pricing Works

The price you set for each service is displayed on your public booking page so clients know what to expect before they book. Bookwize does not process payments — the price is for display purposes only. You handle payment at the time of the appointment, however you normally do (cash, card, e-transfer, etc.).

If you offer free consultations or services with variable pricing, you can set the price to zero or leave a note in the description explaining your pricing.

Organizing Services by Category

Categories keep your booking page tidy, especially if you offer many services. For example, a salon might have categories like "Haircuts", "Colour", "Treatments", and "Styling". A spa might use "Massage", "Facials", and "Body Treatments".

When clients visit your booking page, they can browse by category to quickly find what they are looking for.

Pro Tip: Keep your service names short and clear. Instead of "Haircut Service for Men (Includes Wash)", try "Men's Haircut (with wash)". If you serve clients in both English and French (common in Montreal), consider adding the French name in the description.
